“Edward, a son of Archibald and Ann, died in battle at Fort Granville, in modem Mifflin County, 31 July 1756“

However, this note is also seen as Edward, brother of Brig. General John Armstrong, Sr. (Continental Army)

We have Archibald A*s will dated 21 Aug 1767 Letters of Testamentary granted 18 May 1775 to William A* & John A*, sons & the executors. Lieutenant Edward A* who was killed by Indians at Fort Granville, has often been confused with Edward A* thought to be the brother of Gen John A*.
