About Edward Becher
- Edward Becher was the second son of Henry Becher and Judith Riche. He was baptised on the 3rd August 1577 at St Christopher-le-Stocks, London.
- He matriculated from Peterhouse College, Cambridge in 1592. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn 10th Feb 1595/6.
- Edward didn't marry and was of Fotheringhay, Peterborough and Longthorpe. He was mentioned in his mother's will in 1613 [she left him 100 pounds] and his brother William's will in 1640.
- This Edward seems to be the best candidate to be the "Ned Beecher" featured as a good friend, in several of the poems of Mildmay Fane, 2nd Earl of Westmoreland [1602 - 1666]. The Earl was MP of Peterborough.
- Edward's will was written in 1655 and probated in 1658. He left his estate to various nephews and nieces.
- As yet, no burial has been found for Edward.
