"Edward, sixth titular Duke of Perth, and, but for the attainder, ninth Earl of Perth, who succeeded, was the half-brother of John, being the son of James, first titular Duke, by Mary, his third wife. He was born in the Castle of Stirling in 1690, during the imprisonment of his parents there...
...He died s.p. in Paris, 6 February 1760, and was buried in the Parish Chapel of St Marguerite. He married, at St Germains, 25 November 1709, Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Charles, second Earl of Middleton."
