John Drummond, 5th Duke of Perth

Biographical Summary

"John, fifth titular Duke of Perth, and for the attainder, eighth Earl of Perth. He was born in 1679, and entered Douai College 13 July 1693. He lived abroad at the Courts of France and Spain, but returned to Scotland and resided at Fearnton, near Crieff...

...He died at Edinburgh 27 October 1757, and was buried at Holyrood, 2 November. He married, first, the daughter and heiress of Fetheringham of Ballegerno; and, secondly, in 1722, Mary, daughter of Charles (Stuart), fourth Earl of Traquair. She, who was born 11 August 1702, dies at Edinburgh 4 February 1773. By neither of his wives had he issue."
