About Edward Ordidge, V
"Golden Wedding. - Congratulations have been extended to Mr. and Mrs. E. Ordidge of Carter Street, on the celebration on Monday of their golden wedding. They were married on May 27, 1879, at Uttoxeter Registry Office. Mr. Ordidge holds the proud record of having worked for Messrs. Bamfords, Limited, for over fifty years, retiring about two years ago. The son of a Wednesbury ironmonger, he came to Uttoxeter as a moulder at a time when Messrs. Bamfords employed fewer than 40 men, and when their works (which now occupy many acres) consisted of a few old houses in Petticoat Lane."
