Settled in Henrico Co., Va. before 1676. Bermuda Hundred about 20 miles northwe st of Williamsburg, Va.. Bermuda Hundred established in 1613. Edward at least 3 8YOA when he arrived in Henrico Co.(Now Chesterfield Co.)in 1674, but he may ha ve been older. Supposedly the son of Joseph in James City. Edward bought 287 ac res at Bermuda Hundred on the south side of the James River from William Byrd. Deed recorded in Henrico Co. 1 Jul.,1681. His ancestry may be found in Wilshire ,Suffolk Co., England where many records are on file in London. He received 489 acres on the south side of the James River just north of the mouth of the Appom attox River 27 Apr.,1686. Thurston family from Martin's Hundred closely connect ed.
Edward Stratton was among the earliest investors, he settled in Bermuda Hundred about 1677 and became a planter.
