About Elder (CSA), Joseph Benjamin Faulkner
J. B. FAULKNER lived and preached for years in Collin County. He and R. C. Horn (who still labors there) and A. M. Douglass were intimately associated in the work in that section of the State. He was a devout lover of the gospel, and preached its message with power. Joseph Benjamin Faulkner was born June 1, 1842 [1843] in the State of Kentucky, came to Texas and Collin county when a child. When the war between the states began he enlisted with many other neighbor boys and men in the Ninth Texas and served as a Confederate soldier to the close of the war. He became a Christian soon after the way and in 1868 he began to publicly proclaim Christ and Him crucified to his neighbors and for over forty years went from place to place in Collin county and adjoining counties to tell the story of God's love for men to the people. The result is, thousands owe their conversions to Christ, to his sacrificial labor in Collin county. He preached in nearly every community as an evangelist, being for two years county evangelist. He held pastorates at the following churches: Wylie, Plano, Allen, Bethany, Lebanon, Farmersville, McKinney, Pilot Point, Rock Hill, Royse City. He passed away in Quanah, Texas, March 1, 1911. ---Mrs. Tom Perkins.

Mr. Faulkner enlisted as a Private and advanced to Sergeant. He was In Company I 9th Texas Infantry, Confederate States Army.

Joseph Benjamin "J. B." Faulkner was the son of Jacob “Jake” L. Faulkner and Amanda P. Stimson. He was born on Thursday, June 1st, 1843, in Calloway County, Kentucky. He married Catherine Snider on December 29th, 1864, at Collin County, Texas. They had four children. She died on March 25th, 1879. He then married Emma Adlaide Sims on November 5th, 1879, at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. They had eight children. He was an evangelist who preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. He ministered to and for churches of Christ.
