About Eleanor Baker
Ellen Winslow, daughter of Kenelm Winslow and Eleanor Newton, was born about 1636. She married Samuel Baker on December 20, 1656, in Marshfield and had eight children. She died in August 1676.

Samuel Baker married 1st Eleanor, aka "Ellen," Winslow on December 29, 1656 in Marshfield, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was the daughter of Kenelm and Eleanor (Newton) Winslow. Samuel and Eleanor had the following children:
- 1) Kenelm, b. March 23, 1657-8, m. Sarah Bradford
- 2) Lydia, b. February 18, 1659-60
- 3) Elizabeth, b. March 18, 1661-2
- 4) Alice, b. May 19, 1663
- 5) Eleanor (1), b. 1665

Eleanor passed away at age 39 on August 27, 1676. [Note: Some sources provide that this was the date of her burial and not the date of her death.]
In Marshfield on Feb. 21, 1677/8, Samuel married 2nd Mrs. Patience (Barstow) Simmons (widow of Moses Simmons of Scituate). Samuel had three (3) additional children with Patience.
Marriage record as published is missing date, the month and year are suggested by the preceding marriage record which was November, 1656 and the birth of their first child in March of 1657/58?
On 7 March 1653/4 "Kanelme Winslow complained against John Soule for speaking falsely of and scandalizing his daughter in carrying diverse false reports betwixt Josias Standish and her; the which complaint, at the request of G[e]orge Soule, father of the said John Soule, was referred until another Court, to be tried by a jury of twelve of his equals"
