About Eleanor "Nellie" Swearingen
Daughter of Jeremiah Virgin, Eleanor Virgin married "Indian" Van Swearingen 03 May 1786. After his death in 1793, the widow Swearingen married John Newhouse in 1799. John Newhouse died in 1830 and in 1850, Eleanor Newhouse lived with her daughter, Eliza J. (Newhouse) Fracker, and son-in-law, William A. Fracker, in Columbus Ward 2, Franklin, OH.

Eleanor Virgin was Swearingen's second and possibly his third wife. He had four children of record prior to his marriage to her in 1786: Drusilla, Zachariah, Thomas and Elzey.
