He departed from the port of Hanko aboard SS Arcturus of the Finland Steamship Company on 8 Jun 1901. Atlantic crossing on an Allan Line steamer. Price of the ticket 56 dollars. Destination Atlantic Mine, Houghton, Michigan. (The rest of his family emigrated in 1904).
