About Elias Lieberman
It is indicated that Elias' mother was a Shiffrin, as it is said that, so also was his wife.
Elias Lieberman immigrated in 1890 One of Elias' sons is said to have immigrated in 1894 from Latvia or Minsk. Another son came the following year, 1895 from Russia, in the same year that Elias' wife is shown to have come.
According to the US Census in 1910 Elias' wife had given birth to 8 children and had two children still living at that time. Two Lieberman children lived at home. She immigrated in 1895, 5 years after her husband. Perhaps it was the expense of bringing two children which kept her from joining her husband for 5 years? Elias' oldest son immigrated in 1895. The younger son was only 6 years old at time of immigration, while the older was about 10 years old when he came. Who did they travel with? Who did they stay with when they arrived here? Who did they live with at time of 1900 U.S. Census? The older son was a teenager in 1910, the other son about 12 years old.
