Mrs S. Katz- Guxhagen."

Shmuel’s comments.

1. “"Der Israelit" was a weekly of the orthodox Jews in Germany.

2. My grandmother’s initial was “M” but here she signs with “s” as was customary at that time. A woman signs with her husband’s initial and He was Samuel.

3. Elieser kept at home in Israel his own thora scroll which he brought with him fromcGermany.

In Israel Elieser was for a while a milk farmer. The cows were kept in a dairy building in his large yard on Osishkin street in Ramat Hasharon. He also had an orange grove in his large back yard. He did not work as a shochet in Israel but from time to time he did the job of shchita for relatives, mostly after the local shochet was away
