"...Eliza was sealed as a wife to Orson Spencer. Eliza stated that she never lived with Orson. His wife Catherine did not accept Eliza as a member of the Spencer family. She said Eliza was trying to break up her marriage, and she objected to her coming into their home..."

"...Eliza lived with a family named Green. They were the parents of Lula Green Richards. On December 28, 1848, President Brigham Young canceledthe sealing of Eliza and Orson Spencer. Eliza was slight of figure and not very tall. She had grayish hazel eyes and medium to dark complexion..."

"...Eliza, age 20, and Henry, age 22, were married for time on February 3,1850, at 4:45 p.m. by President Brigham Young. The marriage took place at the residence of Bishop William Hickenlooper, at Second West, between Fourth and Fifth South, in Great Salt Lake City. Brigham Young' s wife, Mima Young, gave the young couple a wedding supper for which Henry gave her fifty dollars in gold. Henry was a big-hearted man who was generous to a fault..."
