About Eliza Eitnier
Lititz Record, April 27, 1900: Death of Mrs. Elias Eitnier. Elizabeth, wife of Elias Eitnier, maiden name Gingrich, died at the residence of George Druckenbrod, near Halfville, on Thursday, April 19, aged 76 years, 2 months and 1 day. She had been stricken with apoplexy and suffered about a week before death came. Mr. and Mrs. Eitnier nearly all their lifetime lived in their own home near Halfville until too old to care for themselves, when they moved to their daughter Mrs. Druckenbrod. They moved but once in the many years of their married life. They never rode in steam or trolley cars, never used coal oil for light or coal for fuel during the many years of their housekeeping. Besides the husband, who is in his 84tli year, Mrs. Eitnier is survived by the following children : Annie, wife of George Druckenbrod, and Jacob, residing near Halfville; Harriet, wife of Isaac Nessinger, Brunnerville ; Lydia, wife of Allen Hacker, Amanda, wife of J o h n Fassnacht, and Eliza Showers, of Lititz. Thirty-four grand children and twenty-nine great grand children also survive. Mrs. Eitnier was for many years a faithful member of the Mennonite denomination and she was beloved by all who knew her. The funeral took place on Sunday. Rev. Joseph Boll officiated. Interment was made at Bomberger's graveyard.
