Biography

Elizabeth Norton, daughter of Reverend William Norton and his wife Lucy Downing, was born about 7 Aug 1653 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts Bay, and died 22 Nov 1742 at about age 89 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Elizabeth married twice.

  1. John Wainwright — married 10 Mar 1675 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts Bay. He was the son of Francis Wainwright and Philippa Sewell. They had 9 children, 5 surviving, 3 of whom were mentioned in Anne Bradstreet’s will.
  2. Isaac Addington — married 19 Nov 1713 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay. His second wife. He was the son of Isaac Addington and Anne Leverett, and Elizabeth Bowen’s widower. No children by this marriage, and he had no children with his first wife.
