Perhaps the daughter of Mary Greenway & John Greenway
William Allen married (2) by 1634, Elizabeth, who was admitted to Salem church before the end of 1636; she was living as late as 26 June 1679, when she presented the inventory of her husband's estate; possibly she was the widow Allen granted land at Manchester on 2 April 1685.
By 1634 William had married Elizabeth ____. Her surname unknown, although R. C. Anderson in "Great Migration Begins" says it is possible she was the daughter of John Greenway of Dorchester.
Some others say her surname was "Bradley," because William was called brother-in-law in the will of John Bradley of Salem; however Anderson says this latter relationship, could have been derived in multiple of ways, and does not necessarily indicate a father/daughter relationship between Elizabeth and John Bradley. The Salem church accepted Elizabeth as a member before the end of 1636.[2]
The six known children of William and Elizabeth were:[2]
"ELIZABETH, 5th known child of John & Mary Greenway, was baptized at Mildenhall, Wiltshire, 2 February 1608[/9]. She married _____ Allen. (This husband may have been WILLIAM ALLEN of Manchester, who by 1634 had second wife Elizabeth.)"
"(Possibly Elizabeth Greenway, b. February 2, 1608, Mildenhall,Wiltshire. In a deposition of 29 July 1642, "Ursly Greenoway" deposed regarding the will of John Bradley of Salem, that he said, "he hadnobody to give his estate but his wife, only some of his clothes &tools he gave to his brother-in-law, William Allen." The latter was William Allen of Manchester, whose 2 wife, whom he married about 1634, was named Elizabeth. As John Greenway had a daughter Elizabeth Allen with Children, & as Ursula Greenway would not otherwise seem to have any reason to be involved in probate matters in Salem, it may be that the second wife of William Allen was Elizabeth Greenway.)"
