The ancient papers of Hartford contain a depostion from seventy-one year old Elizabeth, widow of Timothy Stanley and wife of Andrew Bacon, stating that she had come from Old England to America in 1634 on a ship with "Samuell Greenehill", and at that time, her oldest son, Timothy Stanley, was an infant.

It is believed that she probably married Timothy about 1632 in England. After his death, she married Andrew Bacon around 1661 in Hartford.
