Elizabeth Catherine Carter

Elizabeth Cranfield was the daughter of William Cranfield (formerly Glover) and wife Katherine Cranfield. She was born c.1514 in Kempston Parish, Bedfordshire, England. She married William Carter of Barford, Bedfordshire.

Elizabeth and her husband are listed in the Visitations of Bedfordshire in 1566, along with five children. According to the Visitations, she died in the 13th year of Elizabeth, or c.1570-71. Elizabeth's brother William died without heirs and Elizabeth inherited his estate.

Children of Elizabeth Cranfield and husband William Carter:

• Paradise Carter, who married Edward Williams of Bedford and had one daughter
• Winifred Carter, who married Mr. Hart of Packington, Warwickshire, and had two daughters
• Mary Carter, who married Mr. Nicholls of Bedford, and had 3 daughters.
• Millicent Carter, described as "fourth daughter"
• William Carter, Gentleman, who married Mary Anscell, daughter of Thomas Anscell and Elizabeth Wheatley, of Great Barford, Bedfordshire
