Elizabeth Cornelius

1. George Washington Corneilius was born abt. 1770 in England. He died on 7 August 1833. He came to America by way of Mass. and then N.J. and Virginia to Wayne Co., Indiana. He married Elizabeth MC KENZIE on 20 Oct. 1790 in Rockingham, Virginia. Elizabeth was born in 1772 in Ireland. She died after 1805 in Centerville, Wayne, Indiana. Whe was on a ship bound for America and arrived just outside the harbor in Mass. The ship caught fire. When someone on shore noted the burning vessel they set about rescuing those on board. Her rescuer George W. Cornelius fell in love with the lovely redheaded Irish girl and married her.
