Elizabeth Hansford

Elizabeth Doniphan, second daughter of Captain Alexander and Margaret Mott, was bequeathed 80 acres of land and "her mother's weading ring". She married Stephen Hansford (died 1772), son of Stephen Hansford (died 1758) of King George County, Virginia. On 4 May 1758 Stephen Hansford and Elizabeth, his wife, deed to Alexander Doniphan 80 acres in King George County, Virginia, being the land given to said Elizabeth by her father Alexander Doniphan deceased. The will of Stephen Hansford is recorded at King George court (King George Count W.B. 32, page 330) and indicates they had several daughters, but an only son: Alexander Hansford who married Ann Turner

• i. Ann HANSFORD was born ABT 1720 in King George Co., VA.
• ii. Stephen HANSFORD was born ABT 1724 in King George Co., VA, and died 1758 in King George Co., VA. He married Margaret MCCARTY, daughter of William MCCARTY and Agnes. She was born ABT 1724.
• iii. Alice HANSFORD was born ABT 1728.
• iv. Alexander HANSFORD was born 1730 in King George Co., VA, and died BEF 27 MAY 1809 in Fauquier Co., VA.

She is seen as the wife of Thomas Owen Shipp, Sr. m 1733 which does not seem possible.
