Elizabeth Henryson, here treated, is the daughter of Master Edward Henryson, LL.D., Advocate in Edinburgh and is wife Helen Swinton In her last will and testament dated 29 June 1580, her mother nominated and appointed her, and her husband Master John Nicolson of Lasswade, elder for his interest, together with her brothers, Mr.Wiliam Henrysoun and Thomas Henrysoun, and their father, Master Edward Henryson, LL.D., Advocate in Edinburgh to be one of her only intromitters with her goods and gear. Her Mother's Last Will and Testament

Helen Swinton died on 1 July 1580. She made her last will and testament three days earlier, on 29 June 1580, at Edinburgh in Midlothian, Scotland, probably at her house there. The witnesses present included her brother Thomas Swinton. Her widowed husband, Mr Edward Henryson, gave up the inventory of their goods and gear in name and behalf of their three children, viz. Mr William Henryson, Thomas Henryson and Elizabeth Henryson. In her last will and testament she nominated and appointed her husband and their three children, to be her only intromitters with her goods and gear. On 29 May 1584 confirmation was granted to Mr. Edward Henryson and his three children, including his daughter Elizabeth Henryson and her husband John Nicholsoun, for his interest. The Testament Dative and Inventory of her Husband John Nicolson of Lasswade

The testament dative and inventory of the deceased John Nicholson of Lasswade was given up by Elizabeth Henryson his "relict spous" and Mr. James Nicolson and Thomas Nicolson his "lawll sones" in name and behalf of Robert Nicolson their lawful brother by the said Elizabeth. Mr James Nicolson and his brothers Thomas and Robert were recognised as executors dative to their deceased father by the Commissary Court of Edinburgh and confirmation was granted to them on 10 June 1605. Note: John Nicolson of Lasswade, here treated, had an eldest son and heir also named John Nicolson of Lasswade. He is not mentioned in his father's last will and testament, presumably because all his father's heritable property would have passed to him.

21 May 1591: Charter by which Joannis Sinclar, younger of Dryden, with the consent of his wife Margaret Giffert, confirms that he has sold part of the land of Laissuaid (Lasswade) to Master Joanni Nicolsoun, advocate, one of the commissary's of Edinburgh, and his wife Elizabethe Henrisoun, who were to hold this land in conjunct fee and liferent. Master Joanni Nicolsoun and his wife obtained a charter of confirmation under the Great Seal of Scotland on 30 November 1592. RMS 1580-93: charter number 2116
