Elizabeth Hopewell Keene was the daughter of Henry J. Keene and Martha Lewis Snell. She was first married 22 June 1855 in Fannin Co. TX (Book A, pg 78) to: Isaac Newton "Capt. John" Miller (1816-1888). They had two daughters: Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" (Miller) Bumgarner (b 1860 Cherokee Nation, d 1883 Parker Co. TX, who md 1875 Parker Co. TX to John Hubbard Bumgarner, Jr.) and Nina Dicken (Miller) Lindsey (1867 Parker Co. TX - 1913 TX, buried Rosehill Cem, Ardmore, OK), who md 10 Feb 1881 Cooke Co. TX (Vol 3, pg. 492) to Selden Trullery Lindsey (1854 Claiborne Parish, LA - 1939 Ardmore, Carter Co. OK, bur Rosehill Cem, Ardmore). Elizabeth md 2) 1876 Parker Co. TX to John Hubbard Bumgarner Sr., whose son John Hubbard Bumgarner Jr. had married her daughter Mollie. After the death of her 2nd husband, Elizabeth Hopewell (Keene) Miller-Bumgarner returned to Fannin Co. TX, residing variously with her brothers Samuel Louden Keene and Joseph Todd Keene, until her death in 1897. Her grave in New Hope Cemetery, near Ivanhoe, Fannin Co. TX is unmarked.
