!Thomas Lear, son of Col. Lear by his first wife, married Elizabeth, daughter of Col. Joseph Bridger, of Isle of Wight county, another mem- ber of the Council. He died before his father, leaving issue named in Col. John Lear's will (QUARTERLY, VII., p. 309), (1) Thomas, (2) John, (3) Elizabeth, (4) Martha. Kecoughtan, Elizabeth City County, VA - Old Records; Wm. & Mary Qtrly, Vol. 9, No. 2.

[1] Thomas Elliot I born 1476 died Mar 1545. He married Margaret Wilson dau of Thomas. Their son John Elliot married Elizabeth Graves -their dau Mary md Lawrence Bridger I, their son Samuel Bridger md Mary Webb - their son Joseph Bridger md Hester Pitt - their dau Elizabeth md Thomas Lear.
