DO NOT merge with "Sarah Elizabeth Lee (Scott)". Situation unstable and unclear - it is not even certain that she is a Scott, as some sources insist she was Richard's first cousin (daughter of his uncle Richard. Richard's brother Thomas definitely did marry a first cousin, but had only one son before she died and he married again (picking a non-relative/more distant relative this time).

Mythmaking claims she was the sister of Gen. Winfield Scott - she was not. That Elizabeth Scott married Joseph Wells Harper Jr., and lived and died in Dinwiddie County, VA.

Richard Lee came to Kentucky about 1790 or so. Was in Pulaski, or bought land there in that year. He was in the 1820 Census in Madison, Kenatucky. Elizabeth was administrator of his estate Feb 24, 1820 in Richmond, Madison, Kentucky. He had 16 children names as heirs in a suit over land from Stephen Walker heirs, which he purchased, (the deed of property was either lost or not given him) a few years before his death.Since neither William nor Charles Lee were mentioned in the will, I presume they were not his children as some claim.
