About Pvt. Richard Lee
Do not, absolutely DO NOT assume that he has anything whatsoever to do with the "George W. Lee letter" < link > - he doesn't.
Sometimes miscalled "Richard Bland Lee", "Richard Henry Lee", "Richard Washington Lee", etc. There is no evidence that he ever had or used a middle name.
Deed of Partition (1845, Madison County, KY Book of Deeds Vol. 2 1844-1845 Pages 482-494 FHC #0183296) enumerates his heirs, but fails to specify whether they are all his children or whether any of them were his brother's (or brothers'). Thomas and Grisham in particular may be Thomas' sons.
