When Elizabeth's father, Peter Rande, died she was his heir according to the custom of the court. She was "admitted in succession to Petfyld, Serleshope, Cashman's Heriett, and to the cottage with 7 acres at Pashfield." The latter was reserved for life to Joan Rande, her mother, for a rent of 20s.
