About Elizabeth Marks
Mrs. Frank Marks, a former resident of New Ulm died at the Sleepy Eye Hospital Friday after an illness of four days.
Funeral services were held Monday at 9:30 am from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Elizabeth Mertz was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mertz, and was born in Prairieville Township, May 16, 1872. She was married to Herman Sell, Sept. 18, 1893 and they resided on the farm in Redwood County until 1920 when they moved to Sleepy Eye. Mr. Sell died Oct. 29, 1929.
May 14, 1935 she married Frank Marks in Sleepy Eye. She is survived by her husband and three children of the first marriage: Arthur and Jacob Sell, Clements, and Joseph Sell, San Francisco.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Polta, Sleepy Eye, Mrs. Mary Hockert, Kensal, ND, and two brothers, John and Anton Mertz, Sleepy Eye.
