About Elizabeth "Betsey" Matlock
Elizabeth was the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Hicks and was married the 30th of September 1815 in Roane County, TN to Jason Matlock, Jr. They were said to be parents of twenty children, but no one seems to have a complete list of names.
Many of the children of Jason and Betsy went to Texas where they raised their families, died and are buried.
Manerva Matlock who married David Young, stated that she also had four brothers living there in Texas: Moore, James, Walter and John.
Note:
The marker in Matlock Cemetery is not intended to mark their graves, but was placed there only to mark the cemetery.
It was originally the top part of a Clemmer monument in the old Benton Town Cemetery that had toppled off and was hauled by Billy Harrison to the Matlock Cemetery.
The old one room, log Matlock schoolhouse stood at this same site.

It has been suggested that Elizabeth's parents were Isaac & Elizabeth Miller Hicks - John & Nancy Ann Pollard Hick, Charles or Nathan Hicks & Na Ye Hi Wolf.
Until someone provides absolute proof I will not link any suggested parents. Elizabeth was married the 30th of September 1815 in Roane County, TN to Jason Matlock, Jr. They were said to be parents of twenty children, but no one seems to have a complete list of names.
