Elizabeth Holzklau is the daughter of the Immigrants, Hans Jacob Holtzclaw and his first wife, Anna Margreth Otterbach, per BC Holtzclaw. I, too, am a descendant of Jacob and Anna via their son, Henry Holtzlcaw. Elizabeth was born between 1720 and 1730 and married Harman Miller some time after his arrival to Virginia in 1738. Elizabeth and Harman inherited land from her father, Jacob Holtzclaw, in 1760--" Item. I Give & Bequeathe to my Daughter Elizabeth Miller the wife of Harman Miller three Hundred acres of Land whereon the said Harman Miller now lives being Part of the above said Tract of thirteen Hundred acres, to her & her Heirs forever Lawfully begotten of her body & in default of such Heirs to fall to my son Jacob Holtzclaw & his Heirs Lawfully Begotten of his Body forever.........Item. I Give & Bequeathe to my Daughter, Eliz. Miller, one Negroe Boy named Solomon now in the Possession of Harman Miller, Husband to the said Elizabeth."This land was located at the Little Fork in Culpeper Co., VA. I would suggest that you purchase BC Holtzclaw's book, "Ancestry and Descendants of the Nassau Siegen Immigrants to Virginia 1714-1750," and check out John Blankenbaker's site, Beyond Germanna, for alot more info on these families and The Little Fork Colony. John Blankenbaker says her other children were Jacob, Anna, Mary, two unknow daughters and Joseph. Change Date: 25 Apr 2004 at 01:00:00
