Notes

  • Peter Montague IV married Elizabeth Merry, daughter of Thomas Merry of Denbigh Parish, Warwick County. The connection is documented in a deed from Peter to his "father-in-law" Thomas Merry of 24 Feb 1695/6.  Peter's will was administered 1 Mar 1702/3, and on the same day Thomas Meris(Merry) gifted a slave to his daughter Elizabeth Montague, with reversion to her sons Thomas and Peter Montague. Elizabeth then remarried to Rice Curtis in 1703.

Page 61: Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Morris, as she was mentioned in his will, along with grandsons, Peter and Thomas Montague. A minister of Christ Church at one point was a Rev. Morris. Destruction of the church records prevent more knowledge of him.
