About Peter Montague, V
Peter Montague the fifth married Elizabeth Merry, a cousin. Note that Peter's mother was also known as Elizabeth Merry (or Morris). this has led to some confusion within the Montague tree.
In 1740, Peter Montague V moved from the ancestral home of the Montague family in Middlesex Co, Virginia, to Spotsylvania Co., Virginia, where he settled with his wife Elizabeth Merry. He died before 22 Apr 1756, when his estate was divided. His wife later remarried Capt. Reuben Daniel of Orange Co., Virginia.
