The dates here presented of her marriage, and of her
children's births, are correct - transcribed from an old Town record, and are presumed to be true, hence the inspector is left to guess whether she was in fault in postponing her marriage a year and nine months too long, or her first born blameful for making its appearance that length of time too soon.

Someti mes the proper order of events is reversed - that comes first which should be last, but it may be well to advise our fair maidens never to be unheedful of their virtue and character.
