William Heath's regiment which marched in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775; service 11 days. Next a Private in Captain Hopestill Hall's Co., Col. Lemuel Robinson's Regiment; enlisted January 30, 1776 service to time of marching, 22 days; roll dated Dorchester; also pay roll for same service dated Roxbury. Next entry a Sergeant in Captain Daniel Winchester's Company, Col. Ruggles Woodbridge's Regiment. Engaged August 17, 1777, discharged November 29, 1777; service 3 mos. 21 days, with Northern army, including 8 days (152 miles) travel home. a Private in Captain John Carpenter's Company of guards; engaged June 24, 1779; discharged at muster August 4, 1779; service 1 mo. 10 days; company raised for 3 months from time of joining and stationed at Springfield..

Gen. John Glover, at Springfield, July 16, 1780; age, 48 yrs.; stature, 5 ft. 10 in.; complexion, light; engaged for town of Needham; marched to camp July 16, 1780, under command of Lieut. Zebulon King; also, list of men raised for the 6 months service and returned by Brig. Gen. Paterson as having passed muster in a return dated Camp Totoway, Oct. 25, 1780; also, Private, Capt. Job Sumner's co., Col. John Greaton's (3d) regt.; muster roll for Oct., 1780; enlisted July 16, 1780; enlistment, 6 months; also, pay roll for 6 months men belonging to the town of Needham raised for service in the Continental Army during 1780; entered service July 12, 1780; discharged Dec. 6, 1780; service, 5 mos. 5 days, including travel (220 miles) home.

He was the Town Clerk of South Brimfield, Massachusetts in 1765.

The DAR Patriot Index lists Jeremiah Needham (251) as having served in the Revolutionary War as a Sergeant from Massachusetts. It also lists his wife as Elizabeth Gardner and his date of death as August of 1815.

Jeremiah served in the Revolution. He enlisted in 1777 as a Sergeant in Captain Daniel Winchester's Company, Col. Ruggles Woodbridges's Massachusettes regiment,
and as a Private in Captain John Carpenter's Company.

He was the Town Clerk of South Brimfield, (now Wales) Massachusetts in 1765.

Jeremiah kept his home in this Town (Wales, MA) til 1805 , then emigrated to Vermont, where he remained and died.
