Elizabeth Charles Nixon was born on January 8, 1671 in Perquimans County, North Carolina, Colonial America. Her parents were William Charles and Abigail Toms.

Elizabeth Charles married Samuel Nicholson on December 16, 1686 in Perquimans County, North Carolina. Together they had the following children:
Abigail Albertson;
Hannah Nicholson;
Jane Barrow;
Elizabeth Nicholson;
Sarah Jones;
Jane Nicholson;
Miriam Nicholson.

Elizabeth Charles married Zachariah Nixon, III on August 10, 1729 in Perquimans County, NC, United States. Together they had the following children: Margaret 1730.
Hannah Nixon;
Mehitabel Nicholson.

She died before March 19, 1748 in Perquimans County , North Carolina, Colonial America.

In 1729 Elizabeth married Zachariah Nixon[1]. Although she was 59 and he was 14 years younger than she was, he had become a widower with young children and presumably Elizabeth was willing to help raise these.

Zachariah died ten years later on 12 August 1739 in Perquimans[6].

Elizabeth died in the winter of 1747/8 and her will was probated 19 March 1748.[7] Nixon, Elizabeth. Perquimans County. March 19, 1747-1748. January Court, 1748. Son-in-law: John Anderson. Daughters: Elizabeth Anderson, Sarah Jones. Grandsons: Samuel, John and Joseph Anderson. Granddaughter: Sarah Anderson. Friend: Elizabeth Albertson, daughter of Joshua Albertson. Executors: John Anderson and Joseph Anderson. Witnesses: Thomas Overman, Joshua Albertson, Thomas Nicholson. Clerk of the Court: Edmund Hatch.

vi. Elisabeth CHARLES was born on 8 Jan 1671, Perquimans County, North Carolina[25], and died between 19 Mar 1747 and Jan 1748 Perquimans[26]. She was the second by this name, the first was transported with William and must have died young. Elisabeth married on 16 Dec 1688 "at ye quarterly meeting" at Jonathan Phelps house in Perquimans[27] Samuel NICHOLSON. Samuel was the son of Christopher NICHOLSON and Hannah REDNAP. He was born on 12 Mar 1665 in Perquimans. He died 29 day of Mar 1728 in Perquimans[28].
