Disputed Identity
Early records erroneously identified her as Elizabeth Barstow, but the wife of William Randall of Scituate is now understood to have been the daughter of Richard Carver & Margaret Skurrie.
The confusion arises because Michael Barstow named Elizabeth Randall, wife of William Randall of Scituate, in his will (without stating her relationship to him), which, because of her age, has caused some researchers to believe that Elizabeth, wife of William Randall, was Michael Barstow's sister (and hence daughter of Matthew Barstow), rather than Michael's Barstow's stepdaughter from his wife's prior marriage to Richard Carver.

Notes for ELIZABETH BARSTOW:
WE HAVE A BIT of a CONUNDRUM HERE!
In the Randall and Allied Families it is stated that William Randall's wife was Elizabeth Barstow, sister of Michel, George and William Barstow and daughter of Matthew Barstow according to all the documents they have collected and studied.
- it is contended in Robert Charles Anderson's article that William Randall's wife was actually Elizabeth Carver, daughter of Richard Carver (ca 1577 - 1638) and (1) Margaret Skurrie (-Nov 1618).
We have remained with what the Barstow/Beairsto family contends that it was our Elizabeth Barstow that married William Randall until it can be proved otherwise. - DISPROVEN
