Elizabeth Stewart, here treated, is the daughter of Sir Robert Stewart of Minto. She married John Maxwell of Calderwood, as his second wife. They had no issue. Maxwell Memoirs, i, p. 471

27 May 1551: Charter by which John Porterfield of that Ilk confirms that he has instructed his bailie to give liferent sasine to Elizabeth Stewart, dame of Calderwood, of his forty shilling lands of Porterfield, together with the sixteen shilling land of Auchinquhorlie, both in the barony of Renfrew.
