About Elizabeth Greenbury Triplett

Elizabeth Triplett (Grimes) had 8 children with Thomas Triplett before he died young at age 42. Despite this, she and her son Abel Triplett are recognized by the DAR as patriots for providing thousands of pounds of beef to the Continental Army. Her son Abel risked his life to deliver the beef because of nearby British forces and constant Indian raids.
