About Abel Triplett
Abel Triplett is recognized by the Daughters of Revolution as a patriot. He served in the Virginia Militia, and along with his mother, Elizabeth Greenbury Grimes Triplett, they are honored together for their patriotic service to the American Revolution. Abel and his mother provided thousands of pounds of beef to the Continental Army. And, it was her brave son Abel Triplett, who not only drove the cattle to the fighting troops. But he also had to worry about the Native American Indian war parties trying to attack, kill him, or take off with the cattle during the week's long journey back and forth.
Here is the DAR recognition.
