Biography
Elizabeth's surname is not known with certainty. The will of Zach Blankenbaker (20 Mar 1794, Madison Co., Va.) refers to her as "my wife's daughter", presumably by an earlier marriage.[1] There are a number of references to Zach Blankenbaker's wife being a Finks, but it is still unclear if Elizabeth's surname is Finks. Possible, yes, but not certain yet.
In the 1820 census of Monroe Co., Va., the household of Jacob Broyles has three men and a woman all over 45 years of age. It is likely that two of these people are his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Broyles.[2]
Elizabeth died sometime prior to 11 Oct 1823 when her husband made his will. The will does not mention a wife.[3]

Elizabeth Finks was born prior to 1750 (the starting date for the Hebron Church Birth Register), and based on the fact that her last child was born in 1790 we might guess that she was born around 1748. She married Peter Broyles in 1767 or so. Please see his profile for more information about her surname.
