Peter was the son of Maria Catharina Fleishman and Hans Jacob Broyles. He was buried on his land near Lindside, Monroe County, West Virginia. Peter and his son Zacharias bought 150 acres from Jacob and Anna Rouse on October 7, 1796 in Madison County, Virginia. Peter and his wife Elizabeth appear on the communion rolls of Hebron Church in Madison County, Virginia from 1776 to 1798. He moved his family to Monroe County, Virginia about 1801 and later purchased 200 acres of land in Rich Creek, Monroe County, Virginia from the widow of James Henderson in 1807.
