Ella Plaut was born in Karlsbad in 1880 and died in New York 1964.

She was educated at Philanthropin, Frankfurt .

Ella was married twice: The first marriage was to Bernhard Baer (18741912) in 1900 in Frankfurt. He was a Doctor of Medicine.

The second marriage was to Moritz Werner in 1915 (born in Frankfurt in 1873, died in New York 1939). Moritz earned a Ph.D., was a philologist and a teacher at the Lessing Gymnasium, in Frankfurt.

He was the author of Kleine Beitrage zur Wurdigung Alfred de Mussets, and numerous articles and contributions to scientific journals.
