Dr Theodor Plaut was born in Karlsbad in 1874 and died in Wuppertal, Germany in 1938.

He married twice. His first wife was Meta Plaut in 1904, Frankfurt, daughter of Natha Plaut, R' Rudolf Plaut's brother. Meta was born in Mackenzall (Fulda) in 1875 and died in Frankfurt in 1934.

Theodor's second wife was Elli Katzenstein 1884-1938.

Theodor and Elli committed suicide together after the "Kristallnacht" on November 15th 1938, having been married the previous month on 19th October.
