Ellen Alling

John Alling was born in England about 1627, and died in Guilford, Connecticut Colony, in 1691. Elena Bradley was born in West Riding, Yorkshire, England, about 1631, and died about 1700. Her name has been variously written Ellen, Eloane, and Elling. They were married in Guilford on Thursday, October 14, 1652. She took the name Elena Alling. She is the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Bradley. They had nine children:

i. Elizabeth Alling was born in Guilford on September 11, 1653, and baptized in First Congregational Society, New Haven, on May 23, 1658. She married (Sgt) John Hobson.

ii. [daughter] was born in Guilford on August 2, 1655, and died on August 23, 1655. She died in infancy.

iii. Lydia Alling was born in Guilford, New Haven County, Connecticut, on December 26, 1656, and died in 1682. She married Obadiah Wilcoxen of Guilford in 1675.

iv. Hannah Alling was born in Guilford on July 26, 1659. She married _____ Scranton.

v. Mary Alling was born in Guilford on February 25, 1661. She married Bartholomew Goodrich.

vi. John Alling was born in Guilford on December 13, 1663, and baptized in First Congregational Society on March 30, 1663/4. He married Abigail Grannia on 20 Mar 1688/9.

vii. Sarah Alling was born in Guilford on November 25, 1666, baptized in First Congregational Society in November, 1666, and died in New Haven, Connecticut Colony, on September 26, 1742. She married Samuel Atwater on 7 Jul 1691.

viii. Samuel Alling [#664]: He was born in New Haven on March 24, 1670, and died about 1744.

ix. Martha Alling was born in New Haven in June, 1673, and died in New Haven in July, 1673. She died in infancy.
