Elmer Charles Anthony

The following obituary comes from "The News-Herald," Tuesday, January 5, 1966, Page 20, Column 2.:

"ELMER ANTHONY

Elmer Charles Anthony, 69, of Titusville RD 2, died at Titusville Hospital shortly before midnight Monday following an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 16, 1896, at Sigel, the son of James and Jane Confer Anthony. He was married Sept. 6, 1921 to the former Grace Lowers. She died in 1963.

He spent his life in the Titusville and Pleasantville area where he was associated with the oil business.

He is survived by the following children: Lawrence Anthony of Titusville RD 3, Iona Vanderhoof of Titusville MR 5, Edna Covell, Lloyd Anthony and Grace Corey, all of Titusville RD 2, Harold Anthony of Pleasantville RD 2, Robert Anthony of Fredonia, Alma Zaremba of Hacketstown, N.J., Jan Mitchell of Cooperstown and Larry Anthony of Grand-Valley.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: James Anthony of Titusville RD 2, Mabel Westfall of Titusville MR5, Burt Anthony of Tidioute, and John Anthony of Titusville RD 1, Thirty-two grandchildren and several nieces and nephew also survive.

Services will be held in Titusville at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Clair Walker, pastor the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in the Jerusalem Corners Cemetery."
