Elsie Ella Neill

Elsie Ella (Northam) Neill, age 84, of Bedford passed away on Thursday July 7 at 9:13 a.m. at the Bliss Place in Bedford.

She was born in Walkerton, Ind. on April 24, 1932 to John and Eula (Hancock) Northam.

Elsie was a graduate of Walkerton High School and a graduate of the Methodist Hospital Nurses Training in Indianapolis. She was a Registered Nurse at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford for over 40 years and also worked at Hoosier Uplands Home Health.

Elsie married John W. "Wink" Neill on Dec. 12, 1953 in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 2012.

She attended Englewood Baptist Church in Bedford and was a member of the Concord General Baptist Church in Greene County.

Survivors include a son, John "Michael" Neill and wife Ronda of Bedford; two daughters, Susan Whitman and husband Joe of Nashville, Tenn.; Joyce Cooper and husband Collin of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Randy Whitman, Ryan Neill, Chris Whitman, Sarah Caleb,Casey Fish, Kirsten Fish, Claire Whitman and Aaron Fish; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Helton of Knox, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Robert Northam.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday July 10 at 2 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford. Visitation will be held from 1: p.m. until service time with Rev. Lee Brown, officiating.
