According to the inscription on her grave marker, she is the wife of Elisha BOWEN, M.D. Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: Elvira Caroline BOWEN, female, born 18 JUN 1808, died 17 OCT 1857, aged 48 years; buried in Section 2, Lot 1085 - remarks: wife of Elisha C. BOWEN, M.D.; information copied from grave.Dolores Autry reports the following:Elvira C. DALY married (first) to 08 OCT 1835 in Screven County, Georgia, to Robert Benjamin BEVILL - his second wife. Alvria C. BEVILL married (second) 17 JAN 1844 in Muscogee County, Georgia, to Elisha BOWEN.Robert Benjamin BEVIL was the son of Claiborn BEVILL (1781-1852) & wife Susannah DALY (born ca. 1784). This Susannah is said to be daughter of Benjamin DALY (born ca. 1750 in South Carolina) & wife Susannah GARNET. For futher records on this line, see "Evenezer Church records." Robert Benjamin Bevill married (first) 08 OCT 1829 to Frances WILLIAMS. Elisha Chandler BOWEN was born 22 APR 1820 in Reading, Vermont; he was the son of Elisha BOWEN (1779 Connecticut-1853 Vermont) & wife Frances Chandler MORRIS (1787 Massachusetts-1863 Vermont), who were married 20 OCT 1806 in Hampden County, Massachusetts.The 1850 census of Muscogee County, Georgia, shows: Elisha BOWEN (aged 30 years, born in Vermont), Elvira (40, born in Screven County, Georgia), Eliza BIRD [sic - probably BEVILL] (12, born in Columbus, Georgia), and Elvira C. BOWEN (2, born in Columbus, Georgia).Also buried in this lot: Elvira Caroline BOWEN (1808-1857); Elvira BOWEN (1847-1863); & Eliza D. BEVILL (1837-1883?), & Rachael (DAYLE - or DALY?)
