Emilie Craig Slingluff, 92, died March 14, 1997, in her home on North Bay Shore Drive. She was born Oct. 30, 1904, in New Orleans, the daughter of Fanny Eshleman Craig and Fountain Barksdale Craig. She was the widow of Charles Haines Slingluff, a native of Baltimore, Md., formerly president of Atlantic Wood Industries, Portsmouth. She is survived by two sons, Charles Haines Slingluff Jr. of Rumson, N.J., and Craig Lee Slingluff of Virginia Beach, and by a daughter, Hampton Slingluff Hubbard of Kansas City, Mo. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Fanny Craig Ventadour of Winter Park, Fla. A 1925 graduate of Sophie Newcomb College, she was formerly a member of the Junior League of Norfolk and the Garden Club of Virginia Beach. She was a pink lady at Virginia Beach Hospital and was active in the Altar Guild of Eastern Shore Chapel. A church service will be held at Eastern Shore Chapel on Monday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
