• Her 2nd husband, Dr. James Banks Reynolds, was a widower who was first married to Emily's older sister. (See profile picture)..
- was a member of the last generation of Spingler-van Beurens, many of whom lived out their lives in the West 14th Street block, part of the Manhattan real estate Empire. Subsequent van Beurens moved either uptown or out to New Jersey, or a combination of the two.
A portfolio of drawings of the 14th street property were done by Mielatz for Emily at the end of her life and are part of the records of CCNY (City College of New York). I reproduce some of them in this profile (see Media)
• (from Mitchell genealogy) Emily Augusta, born March 16, 1838, d. February 26, 1914; m. first, October 8, 1866, William Ernest Jackson. They had no children. She m. second, October 7, 1874, Dr. James Banks Reynolds. Their children (Reynolds) were:
- a. James Van Beuren, born October 25, 1875. He d. unmarried, September 19, 1895.
- b. Josephine Frederica Van Beuren, born March 18, 1878; m. February 20, 1908, Seth E. Thomas, Jr. They had two children:
- i. Emily Augusta Thomas,
- ii. Josephine Fredericka Reynolds Thomas.
- c. Frederick Henry, born September 27, 1880, d. January 27, 1892.
