GENERAL: Emma and her father George, a Weaver, both signed Emma's marriage Certificate with a cross indicating that they were illiterate, which was not unusual in the early part of the 19th century. Emma's address at the time of her marriage is recorced as North Street. They were both of "full age". The other witness was Rebecca Kneller, who also signed with a cross.
DEATH: Emma died on 14th March 1901 at the age of 78 in Stepney Union Workhouse of 'Senile Decay'. The informant was her grand daughter S E Hunt (nee Sarah Elizabeth Kneller) of 13 Dalgleish Street, Limehouse, who was with her when she died.
