So far - most research seems to suggest that Eric Petrus aka Erick Petter Lofstom was most likely born out of wedlock as was his brother (half brother?) five years earlier. Records state that Nills Hennig Sjodin was "born out of wedlock" and an entry next to Eric Petter's name says "no father listed". I can't seem to re-access these files as some genealogy links don't work properly - at least on my computer. Another clue to this theory is that both men seem to have been named after maternal ancestors ... but may have been given their father's surnames??? I suppose it's true that their father could have had the same Christian name as some of their mother's people? Either way it's a bit of a mystery who the father was? (father's were?) May be this is a branch for "Ancestors in the Attic" to shake.
